Our Summer picks for Memphis, Tennessee.
So, now that my therapist has encouraged you to get away, I’m going to ask you to be patient (don’t pack your bags and abandon the house just yet). We’re still compiling all the best escapes for Memphis.
Remember, your top picks make the list!

If you do nothing else, treat yourself to a massage at Gould’s. Amazing and sure to transport you (if only for an hour) away from the headaches of your household. You deserve it and what’s more, prices are competitive, but reasonable. If you have some extra time, climb into one of their highback spa chairs and dip your feet into their sudsy whirlpool. Your feet are probably in need of a fresh pedicure that you can show off in your summer sandals. When you’re ultimately relaxed, go on upstairs to the Peabody Bar and order yourself a crisp glass of white wine.
BEST SALON AND STYLIST: City House Salon

Greg Campbell is from Memphis and a world-celebrated artist. Not your everyday florist. He transforms every room he designs and he’s traveled abroad looking for the most magnificent floral varieties. We hired him to do our wedding because we knew it would be stunning, magical and innovative. He has a keen eye for color, light and texture. Swing on by his shop, smell the gardenias and see what I mean.
BEST LOCAL JEWELER: Michael Herr
BEST LUNCH DATE WITH YOUR GIRLFRIENDS: Cafe Society in Mid-town
BEST CAFE:
One word. Ribs. Ok, one more. Deliciously dirty fingers. Great for impressing your out of town guests and for remembering why you love living in Memphis. Full of history and southern charm. When was the last time you got downtown and rolled up your sleeves. Dig in. Barbeque is good for the soul.
BEST COCKTAILS
BEST DINNER OUT WITH YOUR MAN: Stella
BEST PLACE TO WALK AND COOL OFF: Shelby Farms
BEST OVERNIGHT STAY: The Peabody Hotel
