I am meeting with hotel staff all day today and will have rates locked in by Friday. I am trying to keep things on the medium end, as money is a factor for all of us. Rates will be competitive with the Blogher convention. Stay tuned. This is already generating a buzz.

Hi Izzy, it’s pretty likely that I’ll be there, along with my husband. My husband doesn’t really want to do stepmom bonding stuff — he’ll probably just be there to stay in the hotel room and explore Austin. But if there’s a cocktail hour or general informal mingling opportunity where he’d fit in, he’d probably be up for that. (But if not, that’s totally okay.)
Of course, bring him. I’m going to make a husband mention on the event detail page.

Hi Izzy, when making our reservation with the hotel online, how do we get the special event rate?

You won’t be able to reserve your spot with the hotel until just after April 25th. Right now, we’re just gathering a total count. THEN, I will give you all the info on how to book online under the EVENT NAME.

Wow! I coasted in here today. I saw this and think it is a super fabulous idea and I live just outside of Austin. I am thinking to myself “I am so there” and then I see the date.
I am getting married on August 8 in Las Vegas. We return on Saturday the 9th but I am still planning to attend this gathering for the last part….if that is going to be permitable. I will be the newest stepmother in attendance.
