Another Texanism. I live in Houston. I’m FROM Longview. Houston really isn’t Texas anymore. Longview is very East Texas, which means it’s Texas with alot of Southern attributes.

And actually, I’m pretty nice most of the time.

Well, Howdy-HO! That Billy just set me straight! Now, let me make myself clear…when I say I’m a new Texan, I simply mean I am new to the state. I do have a TX ID, plates, and pay your taxes, so I do have some bragging rights. If I hadn’t traced Billy down and discovered he was from Houston, I would have thought he was one of those rude San Franciscan’s I left behind in California (where I’m a native, thank you very much)

Austin is a great place to run and running in shitty weather does make you tougher. Really, it does. So keep it up.

And to set the record straight, to be a Texan, you have to have been born here, and to be a true Texan you need to be at least the product of a few generations of Texans on one side or the other…..and if you move to our little country from California or New York, you, nor your offspring are never considered Texans. But what do I know?

And since you are a step-mom, acceptance by Texans is probably not the most important piece of acceptance on your list.
